Ferrotype camera "L'Opérateur", Marco Mendoza, circa 1892. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: The Operator. Circa 1892. Marco Mendoza's tintype camera in Paris. L'Opérateur was widely used for fast photography in fairgrounds and public places. This camera is divided into two compartments. The upper part contains the darkroom, the lens, the shutter, which is triggered by a bulb, and the storage magazine for emulsified ferrotype plates, supported by metal frames. The lower part serves as the laboratory. After each shot, the plate falls into a basket and is transported to the various baths: developer, fixer, rinse.
