ATTRIBUTED TO FRANÇOIS RÉMOND (circa 1747-1812) - Lot 34
ATTRIBUTED TO FRANÇOIS RÉMOND (circa 1747-1812)
PAIR OF CLOSED VASES
Louis XVI period, circa 1775.
Green enamelled bronze and chased and gilded bronze.
H. 45,5 cm Base. 12,5 x 12,5 cm
In the shape of amphoras, these vases are only decorative,
innovate by the use of the enamelled bronze of color imitating
porcelain or glass of Creusot, without having the fragility.
The neck is closed because this pair of vases was used to support arms of light to form a candelabra.
Remarkable work of chiseling: flared neck with frieze of flutes, raised handles in double crook of foliage and acanthus supporting a garland of pampers on each side. The base of the base is frieze of leaves and flowers.
The fluted pedestal with water leaves rests on a square base with a heart-shaped moulding.
