PARIS - TURGOT'S PLAN SURVEYED AND DRAWN BY LOUIS BRETEZ, 1734 ENGRAVED BY CLAUDE LUCAS, COMPLETED IN 1739 H. 56 cm L. 45 cm Poor condition of the binding, hinges, covers and corners rubbed. Joints damaged and part of the spine damaged, Top board detached. One plate eaten by worms in the corner. 20 double plates, engraved in intaglio. Binding of the period, red morocco, fleur-de-lys border, fleur-de-lys in the corners of lilies in the corners, arms of the city of Paris in the center of the boards, spine with nerves. Large folio (556 x 427 mm). A dispatch has been written in ink on one of the first pages: "Before the office, already receive the city BBS to BT 26 January 1993". (NDR: Bernard Baruch Steinitz to Bernard Tapie). This first edition of the famous map of Paris is rare and the plates are in good condition. Note: Pierre Bérégovoy appoints on April 2, 1992 Bernard Tapie as Minister of the City. He resigned on May 23. He regains his position at the end of December 1992 to leave it again in March 1993. Bernard Tapie's friend reminded him in a friendly way that he did not have office when he was appointed minister.
